The Papatoetoe outdoor pool setting for this meet proved a challenge for many of our 13 swimmers who turned out for this meet.
Despite forecasts of rain earlier in the week we could not have had a better day with families camped out around the pool under various shade devices enjoying the picnic atmosphere.
For most of the day the wind stayed light and variable but a significant head wind kicked in just as we got to the 50’s which made conditions even tougher for our swimmers.
Two swimmers’ performances stood out, with 100% PB’s for their events: Sahara Logo-Olo and Liam Marks, who continued the steady improvement they have shown in recent meets.
Although managing only 1 pb each: Jack Kelly (a first and 2 thirds in age), Courtney Matthews (with 3 firsts) and Gordon Mei (a first in age) showed their performances were well up to the mark.
For the other swimmers it was a mixed bag; however, Ryan Slater, Linda Liang, Amos and Caleb Yin all managed to include some good PB’s amongst their race results.
Thanks must go to Jade Lam who did a great job fishing swimmers out from around the pool to get them to marshalling on time.
